The article goes on to state, “Removing petroleum-based food dyes from the food supply won’t instantly make America’s children healthier; no single ingredient is solely responsible for the epidemic of chronic childhood illness.” Further adds, “It is one step along the road to health. For the last 50 years, American children have increasingly lived in a toxic soup synthesized by chemical means. These dyes are most likely found in things like candles, cereals, beverages, and some pharma companies, too. They use dyes to make food and drinks more appealing.”
Mr. Makary emphasizes, “Efforts to ban the dyes will involve rather than oppose the industry. There are numerous tools at our disposal. So, I believe in love, and let us begin in a good way to see if we can achieve this without any legal or regulatory measures, but we will keep exploring every instrument in our toolbox to determine whether this can be done quickly.”
